Hi

I've decided to start doing the servicing myself on my A3 1.8T sport and i've noticed that the front disks have quite i lip on the outer edge.
So the question is does anybody know the minimum thickness for these disks. would like info for front and rear if poss

Haynes manual states:-
Minimum Permissible disc thickness:
Front:
FS111 Caliper ---19mm.
FN 3 Caliper ---22mm.

Rear: 7mm.

Mmmmm...not too sure about the Haynes' accuracy there.

From official audi docs all FN 3 front setups (which 1.8T, 1.8TQ and S3 share) have 25mm thick discs of varying diameters (280, 288, and 312mm) and audi state wear limit is a max of 2mm....therefore min thickness should be 23mm in my book.

On rears, 1.8T and 1.8TQ have solids, 9mm brand new, wear limit is 7mm, S3's have ventilated 256mm x 22mm rears...wear limit is 20mm
