    GUTTED.com.

Just been out (in the rain) and fitted my shiny new Brembo's

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356094719.058870.jpg

Well one side at least. All went well up until the point I went to fit my ****ty 18" alloys to find the spokes catch the brakes. Stupid dish!

    Totally gutted now.

Does anyone know if standard S3 Avus alloys fit over LCR Brembo's?

If so is anyone selling any or wants to loan me some?

I know the feeling. I had to use spacers to fit my CHs over the Cayenne/GT2 6 pots.

standard Avus wheels clear the brembos just fine mate

Many deep dish wheels won't though, as to get the offset and the dish, the spokes are quite far back from the rim edge, meaning poor brake clearance.

    GUTTED.com.

    Spacers worked a treat.
Still have to bleed them and sort the pad wear indicator as the LCR pads don't have one fitted.

Do that all in the morning as can't fire up the compressor now for the bleeder.

    GUTTED.com.

    These continue to fight me.

Got it all bled and car back together.

Pedal travel is to long. Brakes work great though.

And have an annoying wub wub wub sound at low speed.

So gotta have another look. Not sure if the back plate is catching slightly or wheel is not spot on straight due to spacer.

Or could it just be the brakes need to bed in?

you'll often get debris build up around the edges of the discs causing a bit of a rub at low speeds at first, I woudln't worry about that bit.

Long pedal travel is most likely the bleeding stilll I'm afraid mate.

How did you bleed them? When I do mine, I bleed through the outer most nipple first, then the inner one, then back to the outer one for a final bleed.

When you'ce done both sides (I do the pass side first as it's furthest away from the MC), bleed the master cylinder as well on both nipples.

MC bleed is usually what restores pedal feel. Be careful with driving it with a low pedal as you can damage the MC

    GUTTED.com.

Used a suction bleeder attached to my compressor. Pulled fresh fluid through all the lines. (Made sure reservoir didn't empty)
    Started back passengers side
    Back drivers side
    Front passengers
    Front drivers.

Did furthest nipple on brembo on each front first.
Got no bubbles coming through when finished.

    Is master cylinder bleed difficult?

And you kept the MC topped up throughout the process? That's pretty key to making sure no air gets into the system, else it's a right ball ache apparently (not happened to me).

Edit: Just read your last post. Maybe try another bleed. I probably used almost 500-750ml bleeding my fronts making sure it had fresh fluid from MC to calipers.

if you've not bled the master cylinder, you're wasting your time dude.

It's essential to getting a good pedal feel.

But wasn't for me Why would it need bleeding if you keep the reservoir topped up.

I totally went against the AS grain, I pedal bled, fitted 6 pots, and have a better than OEM pedal feel. It's crazy

    GUTTED.com.

Nope didn't bleed the MC. Dohhhh...
Any guides on here how to do it? Or is it as simple as doing the brakes?

Will I need to re bleed brakes after?
Wish I could afford to pay someone else to do this for me lol.

I didn't bleed the MS either and haven't had problems? LCR calipers are a PITA to find wheels that fit.

    GUTTED.com.

All sorted now and damn does it stop!!!
It was just a bit of air in the master cylinder.
Not too bad a job to do. Just took off charge pipe to get space to work.
7mm socket on the nipples (pre-soaked in penetrating fluid) and give the brake fluid a pull through with the vacuum bleeder.

Thank you for all the help once again guys.
