I bought my mk1 s3 back in the summer I was working away in Scotland and thought I would treat myself in the form of an s3 210 bhp full service history having always liked them and having an s3 rep with 150bhp and never actually driven an s3 not for the want of trying stopping at many dealerships when I see one on the forecourt but never being successful. But can only think it a massive improvement on the 1.8t. So just flew back from Scotland and went to see the car that night with money in hand all being well then it was mine. Pulled up to the gleaming s3 not a mark on it took it for a spin and was better than I could have imagened. The only thing I was not 100% on was the interior it's half leather black and white. But since owning it its grown on me and quite like it now.
so a deal was done and the car was mine full service history all the keys every peice of paper work since new. Cam belt and water pump just been done too. The guy had replaced anything that needed doing with no expensed spared and car was 100% standard. Then I flew back to Scotland and did not see the car for a month or 2 so gave me time to buy loads of stuff for it here is when I picked it up

First thing I did was to fit the mk2 facelift lights
chrome mirrors
rear side windows tinted

So thought wheels and suspension next so I lowered it 30mm all round and bought some bbs lm reps 19" staggered 8.5" fronts and 9.5" rears with 20mm spacers all round

Looks like a minter. If it were mine, I'd scan it for any error codes, get them sorted and then check when everything was last serviced (check for Haldex service). Then once everything's spot on, the classic stage 1 mods are:
- Badger 5 TIP (a larger inlet pipe from Turbo to Air filter)
- Jetex cone filter (or maybe a replacement panel)
- Remap

That ought to see you some good power and keep you going for a while. Depending on where you go for the map. If you're near R-Tech or Bill (Badger 5), they're probably the place to go for a map.

Thanks I have scanned it with only 1 fault being incorrect air flow detected or something I asked on here about it and it's a possible blocked up pipe so will need to sort that I need a new clutch aswell it's started slipping from about 4000 to 5000 rpm but only when really booting it. As for the haldex service could not see anything in the history is it every 40000 it needs to be done?

Think the hadlex is 20000 for the oil change and 40000 for the filter but you should get both done if you don't know when it was changed
nice car by the way :)

looks like a nice car, the lcr splitter looks great, never seen anyone add a small fmic along with the std twin side mounts, it that a common thing? does it work well?

Hi thanks. Yeah saw it on here with the 2 side mounts it's only a small fmic so just though to would keep side mounts the only problem I had with fitting it was the left side mount has the bottom pipe facing towards the front so 2 90s and was straight on to the fmic the left had side fits straight on to the cross over pipe underneath so I used a side mount from a a3 1.8t that I had in the garage that mounts on the passenger side and also has the bottom pipe facing forwards so again 2 90s and was all done. Seems to be ok no worse anyway lol does seem to be a bit stronger on low boost and through the boost range but I guess overall it's getting slightly cooler air in to the intake so would be better but looks good so that's the main thing! Lol

i was just wondering about pressure drops with the charge going through 3x intercoolers
