    I would set Jetex and make sure it gets as much cold air as possible or stick with a standard airbox filter.
    Silver 2002 Audi S3 225 (BAM) since March 2011.

    Mods: Badger5 2.2 TIP, Jetex filter, PCV delete, 710 DV, Standard N249 in use, R-Tech Stage 1 TiV Remap, Audi TT Pedals, Red Dogbone, Polybushed tie arms. All silicone boost pipes, Michelin PS3s, Red V6 coil packs, MK4 flat blade conversion, retrofited cruise control.
    Currently: 254bhp - 276lb/ft (174bhp/ton) as of 11/02/2013 On V-Power

    I have a BMC CDA kit that I bought for a laugh for my old XJR but realised as soon as I fit it (did less than 5 miles on it) that I wouldn't be able to feed in as much cold air as I wanted to it due to the engine bay being full of engine.... It should have 90% or so of the parts that you will need and I don't want much for it, was going to sell it for £100 + delivery.

    I'm new too audis tbh so what iv heared if I get some sort of cone filter I need a cold air feed too or Il loose power by sounds on it, also is it true if I get a panel filter upgrade will it mess the MAF up

    Make sure it gets cold air and then you should get the noise your after and still avoid to much heat soak.

    Thank you very much if I would get some sort silicon pipe to fit to my MAF then cone at the end this should help as it be closer to the wing and fit nice 3" pipe cold feed from the grill or fog should this be ok close to the original feed

    You can route a cold air feed between the battery box and the wing, personally I would try to buy one of the CAI's for a 1.8t and try and butcher it to fit.



    The MAF is in the same place so it should be easy to modify.



    Popping out a fog light for a cold air feed is the most disgusting thing imaginable. Please don't do it.

    Thank you very much for the info and that looks a clean engine bay there 16klappe so basically if I find a cone I like all I got to do is use some sort of cia for a 1.8t any chance you any links for these

    its okay iv found one now, but I don't understand how I'd put the filter and wear or do you me do it same as the pic just put filter half way cut the pipe where it normaly goes

    If the filter will be by the bumper wouldnt it get a lot dirty than normal, I can't seam to find that cold air intake like that at that all ones I find are all one peace

    Correct, it would get dirty.

    And yes, they are all one piece that I have seen. That is the first one I have seen with a split in it.

    I will have to look for close up pics of this to see where the filter goes exact, I think look of this on a 1.6 would make you look twice atleast, have to clean it every week lol, I do like the look whos car is this do you know

    Not a clue. That engine bay looks pants to me, it's just a standard car with a £30 CAI.

    I can tell you exactly where the filter goes, down behind the front bumper between the wheel arch trim and the bumper. It sits behind the horns. I should know I ran one for years.

    It will be exactly the same behind your bumper as any other A3.

    The pipe for the kit looks like this -



    And the tabs mount on the original airbox mounts, the tabs are the same between a 1.6 and an A3 so I'm sure all you will need to do it make correct adapters for the MAF sensor.

    A normal filter with no cold air feed is the setup I have, and it is much better than one of these CAI kits in terms of longevity and filtration purposes.



    No need for a cold air intake on my car, it's a 240bhp 1.8t and the IAT's are 24* peak and 9* minimum due to the intercooler.

    okay thank you for that thats much more help so would i do the cai option or just get a nice cone with the cold air feed on my 1.6 i am liking the cai thing tho its diffrent for a 1,6

    It is an app called Torque, only available for Android.

    It allows you to take readings from all of the vehicles sensors in the same way VAGCOM does, you can display them in a dashboard like this and it will do logs, clear fault codes, record videos with the information overlayed and all sorts of things.

    The boost seems innacurate but that is due to my own setup, however the other values are pulled straight from the ECU.
