As some of you may know after the rebuild i started getting some sump compression and my catch can started filling up within a week/ 1200km, and my drive way was looking like a petrol station with so many oil leaks.
Decided monday night that tuesday im stripping and pulling motor out!
that was monday, tuesday i pulled the motor apart, was leaking oil from the head gasket thats what happens when a motor is under warranty and something goes wrong and they just reuse the parts!!! i mean really!!!!
i looked at the pistons and rings and to me they looked 2nd hand!!! the rings were so sharp you could take plaster off a wall! but instead of fighting and pointing fingers i decided to just sort it out and put new stuff in! i put OEM pistons and hastes rings in. Yosh was a legend and GAVE me a set of ARP head bolts he had spare.
then did some heat shielding around the brake booster lines and the aircon lines
motor rebuilt and ready to go in
finished up tuesday afternoon and was ready to go! went to work on wednesday and wednesday night repaired some vac lines, rerouted the catchcan pipes and fixed some things i missed.
ran on actuator pressure for the last 600km and no leaks or smoke and car was pulling pretty good!
put n75 back yesterday and the car is pulling like a boss!!!!
on wednesday im going to yosh for some logs and checks so got a few things i need to do before then!
tonight its fit my EBC blue and yellows on, tomorrow night ill do a oil change and a final run thru on the car and good to go!
o and waiting for mr prawny to send me a prezzie so i can make my new TIP

Logs ran well on wednesday and car was pulling healthy until yesterday when the turbo gave up and hit smoke screen everywhere!
Bad times! Was the turbo rebuilt or dropped straight in?
I got Karls one in my garage that I was gona use to make a hybrid then this one I picked up off someone I know that was sold to me under the impression it only had 1000km's on it.... Guess not! I'm so over this hey! Its a constant battle for me this year! I went almost a year with no issues and now everything that can go wrong is going wrong this year!
Keep it up mate, shame to see this much effort go to waste. It starts to become a struggle finding a balance between power/reliability
At the moment I'm considering putting k03 back and turning performance down a lot.....

I think its mine if its the one from Jushen which he had "refurbed", from the pics you showed its a k04-023 which was on my previous AMK.

Im sure he did the refurb, was mentioned in his AD on vwclub and gumtree IIRC... Comp wheel still fine, did it hit the scroll?

Ill take turbo off tomorrow and send it in on monday should get it back tuesday afternoon and I refit tuesday night so car should be running wednesday!
Might do battery relocation and fit my new devilsown wmi race tank.
Sunday i stripped turbo off and sent it in monday, took both Karls and my k04 in to see what can be used to make 1 good one.
Picked it up yesterday afternoon and it was ready to fit, now i never took much pictures of fitting the turbo as i did that a couple of weeks ago lol
but what i did take pics of is the battery relocation and the devilsown race tank
there you can see the cable iv used and how iv run it to the starter and from the starter to fuse box
i just cleaned that spot up and sprayed it as it was eaten by the battery acid, im not phased to much by the colour as im going to be making a plate to blank that section off
ok so next couple of pics is the Devilsown 8.5L baffled race tank for WMI
here you can see how it is baffled, the section where the wm feed is has a little shield type piece that does not run dry when cornering or when it gets to like 1L left in the tank

have not driven it yet dude still need to finish up in the boot with battery relocation
have not started it yet nick, just topped up oil and filled water and im gona see if there is any leaks tonight, finish up the boot and see if it runs lol
im thinking of running a MBC inline with N75 to just cap off the boost
