Spare Wheel in A3's

Gents,

I'm currently on the hunt for a 17" S3 alloy 225/45/R17 to use as a spare wheel.

Does anyone know if these fit into the spare wheel well of the A3?

don't want to get one and then look like a plonker when it doesn't fit!!

I see no reason why not, since you could order 1.8T sports with 17 x 7J wheel on a 225/45 tyre and they came with a full size spare....S3 wheels are 7.5J...but i can't see 1/2 inch getting in the way.

All the diameters of wheels should be the same, non?
My 16" 205/55/16 wheel is in, albeit fairly snug...
