Strange coolant problem and coolant loss :s..........

Hey all,

I have a coolant loss problem and engine temp gauge goes from 90c down to just above 60c and goes up and down now and again :s i had it plugged into a computer and the code came up coolant temp sensor went to audi and fitted a new one but still the same problem and cant see where the coolant is disapearing too :s.

any ideas folks?

Have you checked all the hoses? If your lossing coolant then theyll be a pink residue left behind, the thermostat will be causing yor temp issue which needs sorting so may as well do it.

I would suggest it could be weeping out of your water pump bearing...

What car? it could also be the turbo water banjo that will just evaporate....

Did you fit a new O-ring when you fitted the temp sensor? As if not it might be weeping from around that area? Just a thought
