Changed glow plug relay and found an unknown circuit board attached to it?????

Had fault code 18027 (Glow plug relay short to ground) so investigated and found this???

Not got a clue what it is or does, any help appreciated.

It just looks like another relay that has been altered to fit the pin configuration of the original one to me...

actually, changed my mind... didn't see the third photo!

Yeah it alters something. There were bubbles in the fuel line but removing this relay and chip has stopped that and cleared the glow plug fault. I presume it was some kind of fuel saving device?? Hasn't cleared the fuel timing fault, think the ground is goosed on the n108
