My audi S3 is due an full Haldex oil and filter change. Ive got the removal tool, filter and one 275ml tube of haldex oil. Ive got one question. How much oil does the haldex require is 275ml enough from empty? Ive seen on the internet i need 1litre or 600ml or 3 x 275ml tubes? Im unsure what i need. Any help would be excellent. Also there is a separate part of the haldex that uses diff oil? How much and what oil is required there? Thank you.

I'm pretty sure it's one whole tube (if it's from VW/Audi).

The rear diff (often confused) is 1L and gearbox is 2.6L.

This is from memory...

drain when the haldex is warm, use all the oil supplied in the tube...

1 x tube of haldex oil (its hydraulic oil) required for the change...

Rear diff uses 75W90 semi or fully synth gear oil... can't remember off hand the amount (1 to 1.5 ltrs springs to mind)

Yeah yous are correct it's 1 litre in the diff and one tube 275ml for the Haldex thanks for the help will be getting done tomorrow :D

A friend of mine says he just uses some adjustable pliers (the large ones) rather than the tool, seen as you're throwing the filter away anyway. I suspect the tool is easier though, just pricy for what it is. Hardly much R&D to a bent bit of metal and a ring spanner end.
