3DR 8P seats into 8L

Hi folks,

I had read on here and elsewhere that you could fit 8p seats into an 8l chassis, with only the airbag connectors being troublesome and requiring some splicing. I therefore purchased some 8p seats from a 2008 model 3DR, however the runners for the seats and bolts appear to be totally different. The 3DR 8l seats have the main bolts on the sides, and the 3DR 8P seats have them on the bottom.

Does anyone know if i need to do some trickery with the seats or have i just purchased myself some 8P seats foolishly and need to flog them on?

Youll have to get some custom subframes mate, you searched the internet to see if you can buy them? If not youll have to fabricate them yourself or get someone to do them for you.

Why would you do this? The 8L S3 recaros are better than any 8p seat ?

Cost mainly, the 8P ones were more or less pristine and cost £60

They are recaro pole positions, and are perfect on a track, but day to day are useless in comparison to the 8L S3 recaros, no thigh, lumbar or head rest support.

Was in one of these recaro pole positions just earlier today and they were lush after getting out of my 8L recaros.....

But I suppose different strokes for different folks
