Just in process of replacing clutch on a 1.9tdi asv. It has a damped clutch. NEver seen one of these. You can turn the damped part slightly before the flyhweel engages . Is this right. There is a slight bit of play when passed. Again is this normal or do I need a new flywheel.
Small amounts of play in the flywheel on a dual mass flywheel is normal, if it moves a lot then replace would be my advice.

Thanks. It's damped flywheel not dual mass does that make much did. the clutch looks ok. It wasnt dis engaging. But hydraulic all seemed ok. It actually turns very slightly before engaging to fully.
And a damped flywheel is what?

Got the HK1000 from here in the end. Great guys they check the clutch with technical before dispatch and only £200 with the release bearing and all bolts. And even better next day dleivery to my office. Just got to fit it now Then i can start on My A4 to fix list
