Heavy power steering

Hi Guys,
new to the forun.

i have just got a 2003 S3 bam, the power steerings seems heavy when parking.
is this normal? if not any ideas.

Steering is a little heavier on S3's than other VAGs as it has a quick rack... do you get a groaning noise when you are on full lock? if so check the fluid levels... common point for leaks is the pipework that runs in front of the sump/gearbox from the power steering pump...

Hi thanks for the quick reply. no noise at all when putting it on full lock. fliud seems ok.
hight just have to get used to it

Check your tyre pressure they could be low!
