Ive noticed the coolant takes a lot longer to get up to temp now.
previously it was sitting just under 90 on the dash, and dropping off slowly when driving, i changed the thermostat. Occasionally it still drops while driving but the heaters stay hot.

Ive checked channel 51 on the aircon unit and it reads a steady 75'c when warm even when the needle drops.

How to test each sensor is working properly with vcds logs?
I know some dashes have this fault, it did this on my last dash too though, but im sure the 75'c is too low and its another problem.

thanks tom

Ch 49 maxed out on 92'c when warmed up over a 30 mins ish drive, and stayed there when i had a spirited drive home.

That sounds to me like either the temp sensor is not reading correctly or the thermostat is stuck wide open.

Yeh I would check it again, pop it in cold water then boil the water and see if it open. Should of course close then as the temp drops down again. Might be just a duff one you fitted unfortunately.

ended up replacing the coolant temp switch. its been working fine, still a while to get up to temp, but i guess thats down to cold weather.
