Cheap things to do to my car

    Hi all,

need to pick people's brains, I recently split with my gf and now I'm having to sort out all the mess I got in lol, so for the next few weeks/months.
what sort of bits and bobs can I do to the car to improve it etc that aren't going to cost the earth, things ive got planned for in a few months time are ko3s and fmic.

Ive just gone brain dead and can't think of anything to do to it in the mean time, any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Re: Cheap things to do to my car

The best thing you can do I'd make a list of everything you will need, for your turbo upgrade. For example.

    TIP
    Fmic like you said
Fmic pipe work (2.5" then its future proof)
    Uprated boost pipes
    Gaskets
    Bolts

You get the idea lol once you have made a list before you know it you will have everything you need to do your upgrade, with out having to pay a fortune because you spread it out over a few months.

Just a bit off advice that I can give, its how I afforded to do my car on 12000 pounds a year before tax lol so its easy to do with out spending loads at once.

I should have said before I got silicone tip, silicone turbo outlet pipe, replaced the two hoses under the inlet mani, forge 007p ( yellow spring ) jetex cone filter w/cold air feed, and R-tech stage1 map. And put face lift rear lights on, all this was done in the last 8weeks before break up lol,

Thing I know I need to do are

bit of paint work, refurb wheels (need new ones as been told mine aren't right size), leather interior in the future, and coilovers.that's all I can think of at the moment

Cheap but good upgrades for me were the dogbone and the short shifter. Both good bang for your buck.

The LCR front splitter looks cool and only about £25 from the steelers.

A coldside relocation of the dumpvalve, just need a T peice and a 1meter silicone hose.

Smooth and drill your airbox(if you still have that) n75 delet/bypass, and a catch can.

Erm thats about it from me as far as cheap mods go.

Good luck with the ko3s conversion, have you thought about hybriding the ko3s before it gets fitted?

If there is anything we can help with just give us a shout we offer many, many items for your car :D Really from where you are at the moment engine tuning wise a nice exhaust will set you straight! :D However it really depends on what the aims are with the car? If you let me know what you use the car for and how much you want to spend and your aim I will see what I can do for you :D

    Awesome Mike

Cheers guys for the input, body work needs some attention as someone nice has scratched it for me, I would like some upgrade headlights, as my standard ones are pants in the dark, for this month I have got my eye on getting some coilovers and doing my wheel bearing on the front too, and going to order some arb bushes tonight as I think mine are making a knocking sound, then hopefully by mid November the credits will be reduced a bit to to get fmic,

Ive just put a pair of DEPO angel eye projector headlights on ebay. They sell cheap at 130 ish new. Mine will be a bargain! I wasnt happy with them and retrofitted xenons instead. I guess some people like that sort of thing though!
