Hey People.......

Right, here is the story... After owning Focus ST, RS Clio 172's, Mk5 Golf GTI, etc... I decided to Buy a 1999 Audi S3. The previous owner cared for this as if he built it himself. I have a wallet full of receipts for everything including a £1800 at Demon Tweeks, and £1400 new Turbo last year, etc etc etc.

Well its in exellent conditon apart from a full rust bubbles and some little stone chips on the bumper.
It has a Milltek CATBack, Milltek twin Hiflow CAT, K&N Cone Filter and a SuperChips Remap. It also has nearly perfect 18" Audi TT Sport Alloys and also Drilled/Grooved Disc.
Ive swopped badges to the newer 'S3', some LED bulbs, and painted the grille surround Matt black...

Its also had te 'Valet' treatment inside and out/underbonnet etc..

Well here she is on Saturday, the day before which was suppose to be my first meet with the Yorkshire region

Then i woke upto this yesterday morning

Sorry about the quality of the picture. Anyway, i just think someone is jealous and wanted to cause a mess. Nothing was stolen just a smashed window, which prevented me from going to Yesterdays Yorkshire Region meet. All is now fixed, but the wallet a little bit lighter......

Anyway comments welcome

Looks nice pal enjoy it... Mines off road at min as I'm doing an engine build so carny enjoy mine ha. Where about u from in yorkshire Rou not in that region pal

s3gazz, im from Wakefield.

Its my first Audi, and god dont i love it! Its the drive, looks and wow factor! May not be new, but it doest half shift for its age! lets say the other week, i had a Honda S2000 which sounded lovely, playing catch up! the 4 wheel drive makes the difference.

Can't believe that! What a waste of space some people are. Maybe get some CCTV rigged up to catch the little feckers if they think about doing it again. Have you kept your other cars in the same place? Surprised if they've targetted the S3 but not the others.

4WD is the way forwards now we're approaching winter. S2000 has no chance once it gets a bit slippery.

Looking very nice mate.

Sorry to hear about the rear window, theres some right ****ers in this world.

On a different not i totaly forgot about the yorkshire meet lol.

Nice car mate, shame about your window, you have owned some nice cars btw!

Yer had the Focus ST parked there before i sold it 2months ago and brought this! I dont hold any grudges against anyone and i live at the back of a cul de sac so its not like people just walk by the car! Just think someone must not like me!

Im moving houses on Friday so may get CCTV rigged up at my new place.

Plans are:

Lowered on Coilovers
FMIC
Powercoat Alloys in Magnum Grey
LCR front splitter
Tidy up the rust bubbles (respray)
Badger5 TIP
And Smoked Tints

Inside, well a decent Stereo for my Ipod and the newer 8P Gearknob.....

Cheers pal.... Gotta say i do love the Focus, beautiful car, handles well. Would definately own another. But the S3 is totally different. Its more meaner. More power. Its a stealth rocket! And the 4WD is awsome

I see you are going for the B5 TIP and I have to say its a great bit of kit, and if you don't mind me saying I think you should go for the jextex cone filter as the one you have on now looks a bit tatty!

Scottm4 - I know what you mean about filter. It's already been cleaned and reoiled but a few fins are out of shape. Gonna stick with this for time being. Sounds lovely. Just need to buy the stainless heat surround. Place in Leeds that makes them and sells on eBay.

hi pal I'm from Bradford not too far have to meet up some time when my car back on road...

also I'd say badger 5 tip defo 10bhp at least to be had with that kit
also a welly cooler.

Have u done the n249 by bass yet pal.

Wow thats a lovely looking S3 mate, really shocked to see the window put through :(

Right people..... Been slightly quiet on here, but car has had alot of work done to it over the past 7months.

Back in Novemeber it had a N/S/F sticky piston in the caliper so the fronts brake had a strip down and was rebuilt, whilst at it the rears had a good service.

Over winter it was parked up and sat avoiding the bad weather. Well it had a few little outtings.....

Then my O/S window regulator cable snapped so was a door off job to replace. Not a easy job to do tbh.

Then in February, the MOT came along, which it Passed but which one advisory for Track Rod End. Well i knew the O/S/F had a split in the rubber dust cover so already had these. So these where replaced, along with Strut Top Mounts, Anti Roll Bar Links and Lower Ball Joints. Then it had a Full 4 Wheel Alignment. Gonna purchase some Rear adjustable Tie Arms to adjust the rear but also some poly Anti Roll Bar mounts as i know think this is causing my slight knocking noise from the front as everything else is ok.

Then last month came a full engine detail......

Then a full outside detail.....
-Two Bucket Method, Jet Washed
- Dodo Juice Clay Bar and Lube
- Autoglym Tar Remover
- Autoglym HD Cleanser
- Autoglym SRP with Autoglym Hand Pad
- All trim treated with AG Trim Spray and Bumper Gel
- Meguires NXT 2 Wax (3 coats)
- Alloys and Exhaust Cleaned and Protected
(Sorry didnt get many pictures)

Then this weekends jobs......
- Castrol Edge 5w 40 VW/Audi Spec
- Oil Filter
- Sump Plug
- Sump Silcone Sealant
- Pollen Filter
- Fuel Filter
- New Dipstick tube holder

Lets say the Sump was a pain to get off, especially when your on your back and two bolts are in the most awkard position. Sure you guys who had done this know which ones. Took me around 1hr and half to get off but 45mins to put back on and tighten up all bolts.

TBH the oil pick up pipe wasnt bad, neither was the bottom of the sump. Some sludge and bits of orange dipstick tube holder. I think the Sump had been off before, but cannot confirm. But credit to the previous owner as he spent a fortune on maintenance and servicing on this. Even after 131,896miles its a stong engine and quiet one aswell.....

Then the cleaning process.....

New tube holder

And the old pollen filter replaced with new.

So glad now ive got the oil pipe up pipe cleaned up and a good oil change and mini service. Will get a major service done towards end of year but very pleased with the sunday painful works.... Lol

And the sump looks fully sealed as now leaks after and this morning.

Now the exciting stuff to come within the next few months.

- FMIC
- Badger5 TIP
- Coilovers
- And the roof wrapped along which the alloys refurb in Magnem Grey

Oh forgot to add.....

Cleaned underneath the sills last week and treated all little rust patches on the metal sill.....

Before

After

Looking sweet!! Get some facelift rear clusters on to match the updated S3 badge too. Loving the sills too and detail products. I'm a car cleaning whore too :) Nice one.

Cheers pal....

Well when i did the exterior detail 3weeks ago i noticed the underside of the sills where bad. I know you dont see them till your down on all 4's but it had to do them, as most people dont think about doing them. Lots of tar spots, so was a good scrub, tar remover, clay, polish and wax. Looks 100x better but lots of small stone chips towards the rear of the sill.

When i first got the car, I wanted some facelift rears but unsure now. Seen a few clear crystal clusters with a modern look to them, so might go down that route.

Nice looking car mate, not seen you around Wakefield but ill keep an eye out, i have a silver S3 too...

I ain't seen many S3's either around Wakefield. It's asleep throughout the week. Comes out to play at the weekend.
I toot the next silver S3 I see around Wakefield and see if I get one back ;-)

You've just reminded me i need to do my sill's this weekend!

Gave the car a mega clean this weekend but knew i would have enough time to really sort the sills out!

Nice car, unusual to see silver and blue interior!

Never thought bout underside of sills til the other week when it got the outside treatment. So did it last week. Something you dont think about doing.

And thanks for you comments. Love the blue interior.

haha ok mate..!! I know off one more near walton...

There is a guy who has just joined on here (cant remember his name) but has a Red S3 with Black Alloys.... I've seen him cutting through Wakefield and he lives up in Stanley.

Should create a Audisport.net Wakefield Region! if we get some more! LOL :friends:

Popped on my detachable tow bar last night. Got a TowBar Bike Carrier to go onto it tomorrow for my weekend away.

Never used it before but love the stealth look, when not in use.

not seen the red one? what bike you towing..?

Yer the Red S3, think the bloke is quiet new to Audi's and this forum.... Cant remember his name! Something like 'Chrink'. He is from Stanley.

Hitching up a Towbar Bike Carrier! Just got my GT Aggressor rebuilt for my weekend away.

Went for a proper drive last night, since I replace the Oil and did a Service and I've got to admit, its like the difference between day and night.
Feels alot more responsive and free running. Can definately tell the engine loves it and feels healthy.

One days graff and less than £60 worth of parts, and its not only me with a smile on my face!

Ive serviced many cars before but this one is definately the car that has made such a difference to its running!

Dave,

I'm borrowing it off someone at work, as I want to try one out before I fully commit to buying one, as I think it'll only be used a few times a year if i got one.

It's one from Halfords that supports 4 bikes. Not sure what model it is?

Few pictures of my borrowed Towbar Bike Carrier...... Will be definately purchasing one of these so just gonna keep an eye out for one on eBay, Gumtree, etc.... Its at around £200 from Halfords at the moment so hopefully see if I can get one second hand.

Its a nice bit of kit and completely solid to the Towbar once hitched up tightly. Would definately recommend it to anyone.

Pops onto the Towbar, then you tighten up the clamp which is moulded to the shape of a ball, then it has an exterior clamp which double tightens up the ball clamp.

Right..... Just a update.

Not much has happened over the pass few months apart for the usual detail, drive and visit to the region meet. And 2 New Maxxis Tyres.

So my plan is to rest the car over the winter months and do the following:

Rear Washer JetFix and Replace
Front Headlight JetsFix
Front Headlight AlignmentFix
Auto Level - Xenon'sFix and Replace
LED Number Plate BulbsReplace
Interior LED BulbsReplace
New Side Light BulbsReplace
Clamp for Fuel FilterRenew
Refurb CalipersRefurb
Seals and Dust CoverRenew
Brake PadsRenew
Flexi HosesRenew
Clean up Brake DiscsClean
Brake FluidRenew
Refurb AlloysRefurb
Haldex Oil and FilterRenew
Diff OilRenew
Gearbox OilRenew
Timing Belt Kit inc. Water PumpRenew
Oil and FilterRenew
Spark Plugs - ConditionCheck
Hoses - ConditionCheck and Replace
N249 Delete
Badger5 TIPRenew

Quite a big list..... And just remember two New Tyres for the fronts aswell.

Budget wise, well I could possibly spend up to £1500 if needed but will tackle most things myself and can get discount at most Motor Factors. So fingers crossed and hopefully it goes to plan.

Timing Belt Kit and Water Pump, Haldex Oil and Filter, Diff Oil and Gearbox Oil... I'm planning to use a specialist for this. I'll supply the parts though, so just labour only......

Anyone have an suggustions on a specialists around Wakefield/Leeds and surrounding areas, please feel free to share?

Just picked these up for my winter overhaul....
Can't wait to test these out.

Alloys booked in next week for Refurb, then have to arrange for my Timing Belt, Tensioners, Water pump, gearbox oil, diff oil, Haldex Oil and filter to be replaced....
Maybe a long winter for my car. ;-)

Couldn't resist fitting it.... LOL

Definitely improves pull and gear changes, unless that's just me.
Had to sacrifice the some of the spooling sound of my existing K&N Filter but I can live with that.
Hopefully have my Badger5 TIP fitted shortly when Ive purchased some new pipes and a catch can.

Lovely car! Nice to see you have such a thorough plan for the car- will keep it tip top for years to come. A shame more people don't look after their cars like this.

Cheers Pal.... I do love spend time on this motor. Seem as its winter, ideal time to get things sorted. Saved up for a long time, so will get it all done at once. Need to book in garage for timing belt, etc and wheels are off for Refurb this week. After that it's sorting out the other bits over the weekends and Xmas hols.

Oh BTW if anyone is local to Wakefield, please could I borrow your space saver? It's for when the wheels are off for Refurb. One axle will be on stands, and other axle on space savers (mine then a borrowed one). Some beers will be kindly donated. Need it for Wednesday this week til Saturday.

Few photos of the car....

One at the Yorkshire and,Humberside Regional meet at Wakefield Audi.

Car is looking good Mark. :) x

Today just ordered Pagid Discs with Black Diamond Predator Pads. Unfortunately I've had to sacrifice buying Goodridges Braided Hoses for the time being. Nevermind but least I can pump some fresh ATE Superblue Racing Fluid into the system.
Also booking in the motor next week for Timing/Aux belt kit and all Transmission Fluids replaced.
