Hi Guys,

I just picked up my S3 yesterday and I'm trying to get it ready for it's MOT. The guy I bought it from was considering breaking it and had sold a couple of bits.

The dash is showing the air bag and ABS lights, I think one of the ABS sensors needs replaced or cleaned as the car has stood for 8 months. I think problem with the air bag is one of the sensors that fits behind the glove box. I also think I'm missing a mounting bracket for it too.

Can you guys advise what parts I'm missing?

This sensor doesn't fit (8L0959643C):

This is the spare connector:

This is where I expected to mount the sensor but I can't see any mounting position, am I missing a bracket too?

Also what cable do I need to read fault codes onto my laptop?

Cheers!!

Any advise welcome guys, I need to get the car fixed before its MOT.

isnt there a sensor behind there for the ESP?

You really need vagcom mate, scan the modules and they'll tell you what exactly is wrong with them.

Yes the problem is that the sensor is missing, the previous owner was going to break the car due to getting ****** off with its rusty arches and Audis inability to respray them without rusting through again.

This sensor and it's mounting bracket was the only thing he sold from the car.

I'm hoping someone can tell me which sensor it is, I know it's not the 8L0959643C number as the connector doesn't fit.

Maybe someone has an exploded diagram of the parts in this area?

The plug has two numbers on the side:

PBT-9F10 and 968402-1

There is also one on the end of the connector : AMP2-967642-1

Some more info, the plug has 3 wires going into it....
