hi
got to work about a hour ago, and thought id check my oil level, overfilled by 4 or 5 mill.
Any way check the level still a few mil over.
Then double checked and it straight after and it says min.
Hmmm thats odd, checked a few more times and still at min.
looked under the car, about a litre of oil on the floor wtf.
Moved the car to different spot, feels like the rear tyre is egg shaped.
Had a quick check under the car to see where its come from.
its not from the sump (just changed for brand new one) and its clean no oil.
its coming from the back of the engine somewhere.
any ideas, would it really just drop the oil when i remove the dipstick (back pressure of some sort)
Any ideas and ingo much appreciated

thanks dave
audi want £100 for the oil return feed line from the turbo.
Any cheaper options?

so the oil return pipe on these has a bendy bit in the middle, which is wrapped in a mesh covering and inside this is a corrigated plastic tube. the corrigated inside bit is the part that cracks, or at least ive seen. An option is to cut the pipe above and below the mexh flexy bit to remove it and it's couplings then use a piece, about 25cm's long of oil pipe, and jubilee clips to hold it onto the existing metal pipework on the return. Just ensure the pipe you use can take oil and the temperature and it should be fine.

Thanks for your help Dan
Just got home and will check the flexi.

so a quick update.
Couldnt find the leak on the return pipe.
It turned out to be the oil feed pipe to the turbo, when i took the feed of i noticed the bottom washer was missing.
34 pence later and the oil leak has stopped. cost me 20 quid in oil though.

thanks
i wouldnt want to try and undo the return feed of the bottom of the turbo, it looks like a right mare.
