Quick question - will it fit?

Hi guys, will a bootlid from a 2003 Audi A3 TDi fit an 1998 Audi A3? Thanks!

I believe so yes, the difference is though, the facelift bootlid is solenoid operated, and you don't have a power feed for this function, plus you can't programme a facelift keyfob to operate the bootlid neither on your 98 A3. Better to replace like for like, unless you really want the rust prone flush bootlid handle that the earlier ones don't suffer from.

Thought so but just wanted to check on here. Here is a pic http://i.imgur.com/kvWJE.jpg Want the bootlid for the upper rear spoiler. Going for the S3 look but heard that just sticking on the spoiler looks a bit naff. Guessing that would be the same as the S3? Not keen on the lower rear spoiler though - that will be coming off.

If it's the bootlid that's in the pic, it's a straight fit, that is a prefacelift A3, bootlid would be lever operated, not electric!

Jojo thanks again! Out of interest how can you tell it is prefacelift? (Still learning here). I better ring the breakers again. Been searching for ages for a bootlid with spoiler. Have a top weekend.
