Flashing DIS??????

Guys,

Went out for a random drive the other day and after about 2 hours the DIS started flashing, it was set to miles left in tank, yet when I looked it was on elapsed time and flashing.

I'm going to assume they all do this after 2 hours of driving, is this the case? If not, I take it the previous owner has altered it somehow to do this.

Any thoughts / input appreciated.

That's a nice friendly reminder for you to take a break. Happens every 2hrs (managed to get mine flashing 6 hours once). Playing with any of the DIS buttons should get your original screen back.

Just press RESET button and it will disapeared. It is normal for every 2hrs of driving

My Passat does this aswell, it's a VAG thing.

Yeh it is telling you that you have been driving for 2 hours and need a rest. Pressing the reset button once will hide it. Even if you stopped within 2 hours and it still went off, this is because the ignition needs to be left off for at least 15 minutes for it to reset.

I assumed as much and when it started flashing I just tapped the up / cycle button and it was as normal.
