JKM do dyno runs, it I think they're £50 for a power run, and as revo st2 is only a £50 upgrade I doubt they'd dyno it for free

Gotta say my AIT`s look a bit high which i think is a bit weird cos i popped the bonnet of the car after my logging session and the throttle body was just warm to the touch. Could my sensor be a bit knackered or is those temps normal for a smaller FMIC as i didnt feel the power drop off really which is what i thought heatsoak did.

don't seem crazy high to me mate, considering you're at stage 2 with what you describe as a small FMIC.

Not running huge boost from the logs at all, what are the airflow figures like?

225gs - 230gs from 4500rpm to redline it is in the logs you have to scroll over

Can the boost be upped? i was thinking of getting a revo SPS thingy off ebay if i can find one cheap

i wouldn't up the boost, not with those ait's. plus i bet it must feel pretty dam good already.

have you done a pcv delete/simplification? maybe try that to lower timing pull.

Cheers bud, Yeah it does feel good really nice and smooth with a couple of nice pickups through the revs.

I have done the N249 delete and am concidering doing a catch can next but wanna keep as OEM looking as i can under the bonnet and am running out of cash lol.

I did have a quick look and found this cheapo one on ebay Oil Catch Can Universal Breather Tank Crank Case Breather Square 15mm Fittings | eBay

Am still looking at getting a revo SPS switch if i can find one cheap as chips.

Re: my AIT`s a am still a bit confused as my throttlebody after some runs with the SMIC setup was so hot you couldnt touch it and with my new FMIC its basically cold or just luke warm after a run so its gotta be alot better than it was.

They don't look that bad to me at all mate.

At Castle Combe, in my old car on it's standard SMIC, Pierre saw 90 degree AITs logged, now THAT'S hot.

getting up to 40 at the end of a long pull doesn't sound terrible to me, although if you're concerned a wellycooler core is only £80

Nah not really concerned as it wasnt losing power at all during the runs and was a bit of an enigiser bunny and just kept pulling and pulling

I like the cooler i bought its small and not too in your face plus the bumper and fogs sit so well its almost OEM looking.

Never really gonna track my car so its only for a bit of blasting on the roads every so often so doesnt need to be super high spec.

I could see the temps drop right down after i eased off to 22-23 degrees.

Still tempted to try a new sensor as they are £14 off ebay lol

Booked in for my Stage 2 Revo :)

Please don't buy an eBay sensor. I've had crap sensors before from ECP let alone eBay! I make sure I buy any sensors direct from VW or Audi now.

I highly doubt yours needs changing mate, so don't waste your money.

AIT's sound bang on for a st2 car with a smallish IC. why change it?

Your N75 duty cycle seems a bit high, mine is around 80% mid range to top and boosts same as yours.

OK, I'm going to take back everything I said about AITs. they are fairly warm.

I didn't realise you had to scroll down on that silly log viewer. I'm used to screen shots.

Sorry folks. I only commented on what I saw, which peaked at 40 degrees

Anybody used a revo SPS switch before? i have found some instructions on the revo website and also some software that allows you to plug the sps into a vcds cable so you can adjust stuff on the switch.

Just want to know where to start with messing with settings etc as can i get the switch to find out what the car is currently set to?

(not got the switch yet as only won the auction yesterday!)

Don't ever touch the "fuel" figure only "boost" and "timing". Only ever go up by 1 digit at a time and make sure you log as much as possible before and after to see what's changing. Each figure only goes up to 9.

    Thanks mate

Also read that there are a couple of pre programmed settings on it as you can set it to low settings etc for a more fuel efficient map etc for just motorway cruising etc which could be useful too.

Lol i am a little bit of a gadget freak so boxes you can plug in cars and make them go faster is all good me thinks.

As my car is my daily drive having the ability to tame it down for everyday driving and fuel economy could be good as the majority of the time in my commute i am stuck in stop start traffic so couldnt go fast if i wanted to.

So if i can set it up on a tame map and have the SPS in the glovebox with the other maps on it it looks like i can just switch off the engine plug in the SPS and it will swap the map over in 10secs and your ready to go.

It sounds like a good idea now but you could be in daily map mode and bump into another car you fancy havin a bit of fun with but you can't swap to performance mode without switching the car off to change maps.

My car gets used daily too mate. The basics of the maps won't really have changed, so the low down map figures and fuelling will be the same as a standard car. It's all at the top end where it's all changed, when the car is under load.

Anyway give it a go and see what you think.

True and your probably right and will get mullered by some sooped up saxo

but for being able to adjust boost etc at home using my netbook for £50 it cant be bad plus i can do some logging pre and post to see what difference it made it could be fun to mess about with. This is until i can get the car over to someone like Bill @ badger 5 or Nick at R-tech for them to give it a proper RR setup i think it will suffice for now.

Airfow is good mate still not as aggressive as yours on WOT but there is a definate kick after 3250rpm and then it pulls really well to the redline.

Once i get my SPS switch i will try a few other settings and up the boost a little and see what results i get.

Nope no idea what its actually running at the wheels can only go by what the logs tell me and that would seem i am getting about 225-230gs from about 4400rpm

Defo feels a bit quicker but not a massive amount but on the other hand did a airport run with my GF this past week and on a motorway cruise to gatwick and back at 75mph on cruise i got about 33mpg and got my first 420mile tank of petrol which is about 31mpg average and that includes about 7 or 8 third and furth ger runs to the redline for testing purposes.

Gotta get it to a proper rolling road session at some point so hopefully we can sort out a south central RR day

Oh and on a side note i received the Revo SPS2 switch i bought off ebay only to realise that i mae a mistake and its not really compatible with stage 2 remaps as it only lets you change between pre determined maps eg stock and performance and you cant adjust the boost etc which is what i wanted to do.

So put it back on ebay and sold it for a bit less than i bought it for but hey ho live and learn.

Day after i sold my SPS2 i spotted a Select Plus for sale on ebay for £20 more than i sold the SPS2 for so have bought that now so i should be able to tweak my map settings a bit

I try and 'aim' for 100 miles per quarter....it never happens though

Someone always finds me to lead me astray! lol

Fair play for getting 420miles out of a tank though and I'll keep an eye out for a RR day for south central

Yeah my MPG has got better and better since i started on my stage 2 modding upgrades so just to be different i have upped my BHP plus upped my economy

Best i had got before was 401 the 420 was pushing it a little as DIS said i had 5miles left in the tank lol.

But very impressed as the first 1/4 of a tank was used for my logging session so wasnt driving like miss daisy. But the other 3/4 of a tank were all cruising miles basically so could possibly of got that to 450 if i had driven it all on cruise control at 75mph.
Still according to the road trip app on my phone that whole tank was a 31.31mpg average

Am expecting it to go back to about 350ish as am now back to my usual 50 50 driving round town etc.
