The key is regular oil changes (none of this long life nonsense) and proper preventative servicing, I'm on my 8th Audi and the previous 7 all went well over 100,000 miles and were stilll going strong, one of my early Coupe GTs (1986 C reg) is owned by a friend and has over 300,000 now and the 2.0ltr 5 pot still pulls hard. People have a fixation on mileage when they should be more concerned about the type of mileage and servicing the cars had. A 100,000 mile 5 yrs old car is often in better condition than a 30,000 mile 10 yr old car thats only had short journeys and never got properly warm,
