when it got to 99,999 you should have turned around and reversed for the rest of the journey to send it back down.

Lol, it's nicely run in mate! Modern engines are good for high mileage these days! Just needs regular servicing.

I reckon high mileage is very accepted now, most cars we see at work have done over 100k easily, I believe as long as the history and the condition is good and it's been looked after its no problem! I just purchased an 04 plate Seat Altea 2.0 TDI PD with a massive 203,000 miles on the clock, one owner, full history and it drives faultlessly!!

The key is regular oil changes (none of this long life nonsense) and proper preventative servicing, I'm on my 8th Audi and the previous 7 all went well over 100,000 miles and were stilll going strong, one of my early Coupe GTs (1986 C reg) is owned by a friend and has over 300,000 now and the 2.0ltr 5 pot still pulls hard. People have a fixation on mileage when they should be more concerned about the type of mileage and servicing the cars had. A 100,000 mile 5 yrs old car is often in better condition than a 30,000 mile 10 yr old car thats only had short journeys and never got properly warm,
