Hey all. Ive done so well at not having to ask anything but I have been unable to find what I'm stuck on.
I bought a jetex cone filter and I'm unsure what to do with two bits of hosing. I was wondering if anyone could help me out as I don't want to attach the two then find out I shouldn't have etc etc.

So I have a hose coming from the car (the one not going anywhere) and then the silver looking one coming off the filter itself.
Any help I would greatly appreciate :)

Thats the secondary air injection inlet... you should fit a small filter to it really or do the SAI delete (links in the stickies...)

Another question, installed that all fine, however my diverter valve now seems to be making a dumping noise when I take my foot off the accelerator. I had a look it all seems attached and the hoses are all ok. Is it dying or could something else cause this? I presume something is up as its always been quiet.
Also coilovers now fitted and I have the driveshaft rubbing problem. I was reading a thread about replacing the arb with an s3 or tt arb. This would solve my problem? I don't have the money now to buy a better one, so it would just be so I can drive my car.
thanks if anyone can help.

I'm sorry to post again, but can no one help? I just want some advice before I go to a garage and get conned. It's happened too many times.

The DV noise is normal as you have fitted an Open Filter.

I can't help with your other problem however. Unless shorter drop links would work?

oh the DVa noise id strip the turbo and check all seals.

:jester:

Ok, I'm not mechanically minded, so I suppose I will have to go get it checked as two different views.

Anyone know what the lowest you can go without the arb hitting the driveshaft? I read so much but there doesn't seem to be one cure that works for everyone.

Thanks.

Oh, hence the little joker, haha. I'm a girl, forgive me :p

Thank you.

Well if you want to really drop it, you need to be looking at other arbs, like neuspeed. Or you could just get the coil overs adjusted, I think the max is about 40mm before you have driveshaft fouling?

As long as it isnt fluttering, the dv noise is normal after fitting a cone filter.

Yeh, I want it low. I read that standard is 19mm? So I would need one the same size as that? I see them at 25mm etc.

simply cos it is cheap, I wasn't planning on doing my arb quite yet so it wouldn't be forever.

Ok, it just is loud, but only from inside the car.

The DV will seem louder ,
Nothing to worry about there.
Anti roll bar wise... ive only ever fitted one. That was a white line item from awesome gti,
Some people dont like them but it worked fine,
