ABS light :(

well yesterday it was a bit wet when i was out so thought i would give the s3 a little drift kicked out quite nicely in places but today getting into my car my ABS light was on so i switched off the car turned back on light gone done the same after it flicked on again now it hasnt come on again ( touch wood ) any ideas what it could be also i have a 1999 s3 8l and i have no esp switch does any one know why and how i can switch my esp off?

No ESP on yours and a scan with VCDS is in order... I know this is a fairly generic response to most posts on here now but these cars are equipt with a fairly decent method of tracking issues with teh electronics on them... a scan of the ABS module will give some idea of wahts going on but chances are its an ABS sensor...
