Tips for fitting brake calipers

Finally got myself a brake upgrade!

I have fitted disks/pads in the past without a problem but i've never changed calipers before.

Do I need to drain all the brake fluid before I start dismantling? if so how what's the best way to do this?

How do the brake hoses come off? I heard you need a special spanner?

Do I need new brake fluid or can I just re-use the one i've drained? It was only changed in December on the 30k service. If I need new fluid do I just use the recomended VAG DOT4 stuff or is there a better alternative?

Any advice would be appreciated!

you always need new brake fluid, sometimes an advantage to fill the caliper with brake fluid b4 tou connect it but this depends on the job. also clamping the pipe while changing the caliper over can save bleeding time.
