Got some new rims for my s3 but they are 5x112 fitment and with an offset of 45 so unsure of what sizes to get. Just want them to sit flush if thats pos? Nothin extreme lol.

I just had a play around on this ET calculator thing. Online Wheel & Tyre Fitment calculator. Offset, Tyre stretch and Rolling Radius calculator

I think the thinnest adaptors you can get for 5x100 to 5x112 are 20mm, so I think that would make your ET45 into ET25 IIRC?

So, they would appear to fit ok, assuming your current wheels are 8 inches ET32, running 225/45/17 and the new ones are as you describe above running 225/40/18?

I'd double check though, its potentially very confusing!!

i'm running S4 avus rims on my S3, with 20mm front/30mm rear H&R adaptors. The wheels aren't sitting flush but it sits nice.

Yeah ijust have the standard avus rims on but i will be using 225/40/18 tyres. Have you got any pictures Gordon c? What suspension are you using, i have coilovers. What locking wheel nuts did u go for?
