    Brake upgrade

I'm getting the remapped next month but I was thinking of putting on different brake calipers etc on, I was thinking of seat Leon cupra r calipers, would these be a good upgrade to my a3 or are they the same? And also would they be a direct fit no modding involved?

    Brake info in the stickies....

If you mean LCR Brembos then you will need calipers, brakets, brake lines and discs...

if you want a cheap and simple upgrade, you can fit S3 brakes very easily. These retain your existing calipers, and you just change the carriers and discs. very cheap, very easy, and fairly worth while.

if you want something a bit more serious, you can take the brakes off a leon cupra R and they will bolt straight on.

For these, you will need the calipers, carriers, discs, and hoses, as well as obviously pads.

Typically budget around £250 for S3 312's with new discs and decent pads, or around £4-600 for some LCR brembos depending on pad / disc condition. I personally would be inclined to go for the cheapest set you can find and fit brand new discs and pads for peace of mind.

At £25 each they either don't know what they have (if they are Brembo's) or they simply aren't Brembo's... all Mk1 LCR's came with Brembos out the factory IIRC... and like I said, you would need the brackets and brake lines too... LCR disks are 323mm vs your 288mm and the S3's 312mm

All UK LCR's had brembos indeed.

Only ones to not have brembos were some euro ones, where I believe it was an option.

If they're big and red, and say brembo on them, that's the biggest give away.

Brembo calipers are 350 ish each new... genuine LCR brackets are silly money IIRC

Bill @ Badger5 does brackets, discs, pads and braided hoses for these if stuck...
