Hi,

Can any of the suspension boffos here tell me if it's a good idea to slap on a pair of solid axle bushes? I've been doing some reading on vwvortex and someone made the point that they could over stress the mount point as they don't have as much give as the OE ones, which could lead to cracks etc. down the line?

That does sound plausible but, frankly, I'm a little put off by the plasticky standard parts; the new ones I've just bought feel like they could crack pretty easily too. I'm not put off by the fact that solid ones will have a harsher ride, but of course I'm after something that doesn't cause addl. issues.

Poly bushes tend to work well in beams/rear arms... Bill runs Vibratechnic solid bushes in his Ibiza race car but not sure how they would be on a daily/road car...

S3's use non voided bushes in the rear arms as std

VT ibiza ones are rubber/ally bushes.. no voids no unwanted movement.. voided oe bushes are quite scarey how much rear beam deflection is allowed.. rear wheel steering..
