I drive a VW Bora 4motion however for all intents and purposes, it's pretty much an 8L S3.
I have H&R V1 Twin-Tube Coilies fitted to the car and recently the rear end has developed a strange noise. When going over bumps in the road, it sounds like the rear left shock is bottoming out. Particularly bad when I have passengers in the back seats and both shocks are doing it.
I have the adjuster cups set to the highest setting they can go and the car is running on 17" alloys with 235/45 tyres.
It might be worth mentioning that I have a 22mm Neuspeed Rear ARB.
The coilovers are only 1 year old.
Other times I get creaking noises but it is the harsh thud noise that sounds like the shock travelling its full length that concerns me.
There doesn't seem to be too much to go wrong at the back end suspension wise so I'm wondering what it could be?
Hopefully I'll get a chance next weekend to have a closer look.
Thanks in advance.
