Quick Armrest fitting question - Do I have to remove ALL of the lower console?

Hi All,

When retro-fitting the armrest do you have to remove ALL of the lower centre console or can you just remove a few bolts and lift up the rear end of it? The audi workshop guide I have suggests to remove all of it, which looks like a right pig of a job but all posts I have read so far say how "easy" it is to fit.

I managed to do it without removing the whole thing, just lifted up the back if i can remember that far back

Didnt have those little clips that you thread the bolt into so had to try with a nut and bolt which was a complete pain in the ****

I too managed to do it with just lifting the back of the centre console.

Thanks guys I'll see how far I get. I'm a bit scared about cutting the coin tray - eek! And is it really as easy to fit as all these posts suggest?! Only one way to find out....
