Exclamation Disconnected hose found while doing N249 - help please!! I want to drive home!!

    Hi guys,

Was doing the N249 bypass after work...but found a worrying pipe which just wasn't connected to anything dangling around. See the picture below. The pipe is connected to what the right arrow points at, and the other end was just free.

What is this pipe? What should it be connected to? I want to fix it before driving home because I imagine it's not good (no idea how long it's been like this either). Help please

I finished off the bypass anyway (see below for result) will tidy it up more later. But for now I really need to know what this pipe is and where it should go :S

    Help very much appreciated!!

    Thanks,
    Aran

If it is from what the right arrow is pointing at and the other end is the left arrow it's your vacuum to the FPR mate you need to connect it to the nipple under the manifold, next to where the dv pipe goes, it may have split off

Thats a vacuum line for the fpr, in connects under ur inlet manifold on the left near the charge, your fueling will have been all other the show, its ok to drive but really not recommened. Just plug it back in under the manifold, also when your get chance change it for some silicone.

That pipe is very very important as it is for your fuel pressure regulator. You won't be going anywhere until that's connected.

It connects to the underneath of the inlet manifold. As you face into the engine bay there are 2 nipples on the under side of the inlet manifold towards the left. This pipe will go on the one that currently has nothing attached to it.

thank you boys!! Time to replace it for some silicone hose and get it re-attached! Reckon it's doable from ontop, or will I need to take off the manifold?

It will cause mega problems if it's not connected, just drop off the plastic cover in front of the manifold, the one where the dipstick is and feel underneath to see if it has pulled itself off you should have 2 nipples one has your N249 delete hose from the diverted valve the other is what that pipe would have gone into.

    Hi guys,

All done, cheers for the help! Started her up and got not engine warning lights, so that's a good start. Will take her home now and fingers crossed I haven't incorporated some leaks into the system :S
