Advice required for new gear knob/gaiter

Hi all,

I have just bought a new gear knob for my A3. it's an 8L 97 reg.

I have fitted it, but the surround is a different size from the original one and the clips are in different places. There is a gap all the way round.

My question is, is there an adapter I can buy, or a new bit for the centre console or should I just buy a bigger gaiter to fit on the old surround?

It says it was made for my model - 8L

If its S-line it will be an 8p knob, you'll need to swop the plastic bases over.
