turn off the ignition completely hold the 2 circular buttons on the dials ( the ones u reset the trip computer and the other one doing a quick sensor check i think) so hold them for 5 seconds within that time i think you just turn the ignition on.. and that should reset it to 15,000km or watever it is in miles.

Doesn't your local dealer do the fixed price servicing as advertised on the main Audi site?

    Interim service - £149
    Full service - £299

The difference between the two? An air filter and 4 sparkplugs. Get the interim and do the last bit yerself

Badger 5 or r-tech for a service and get it scanned for your ESP light. B5 is in gloucestershire and r tech is in hinckley (near me)

ive not long ago fitted a cone filter and have 4 new spark plugs waiting to be fitted, will an interim service do the job? is that the only difference between an interim and full service? do i put my standard air box on as my mate has his service done and they threw his cone filter away as they said they arent compatible with the car?

I would take it to Audi just for the 4 ringed stamp, yep new air filter and plugs is apparently worth a £150 price difference. Do it yourself. As for the filter, politely advise them them that it is your choice that it is on the car, and if it is removed and binned they will be facing a bill for replacement of said part. Im surprised your mate didnt kick up to be honest.

he did and they went rummaging through the skip to get it, i was gonna put the tfsi coils on with spacers from awesom but i'll just wait till after incase they take a look and decide to fit different ones otherwise that'll be £142 down the drain lol, there robbing b****rds here, took my wheels in for balancing and 2 new tyres as had snow proxes on and they casually lost 2 center caps

Yeah man I feel ya pain, I've got a recent thread about my stealer trying to have my pants down over a coolant temp sensor! On the plus side they did do my packs on warrenty, so that is a good thing. Definately hold off until they've had a looksy.

Never go to Audi! They are complete idiots! Going to a specialist is better for your car! When I bought my car all the work was done by a specialist which is why I bought it!

I'd heard about it on here (bearing in mind I've been an Audi owner for all of 6 weeks), and heard loads of people rubbish it off. I took Noggy in for service at Esplanade Audi on the Isle of Wight and was asked to sign a piece of paper for the service, and a piece of paper for coil packs. I said ' I havent asked for coil packs ' and was told that Audi are doing a recall (wrong choice of word methinks) on any A3 or A4 from 1998 to 2003 to check the coil packs. If they are a particular type, they will change them for gratis

It came back on the sheet as a warrenty code, I'll have a look later and see what it is...

HOWEVER, if any of them are not original, I don't think they will replace them. Worth a check though eh?

    CORRECTION:

okay its my bad ive just checked again..

" to reset the longlife display manually, witch off the ignition, then press and hold down the trip reset button, and note that the relevant service will appear in the display turn the digital clock reset knob clockwise and the display will now return to normal.... switch off the ignition to complete the resetting procedure. DO NOT "zero" the display otherwise incorrect readings will be shown
