rear ARB and tyre wear question?

morning everyone,

about a year and a half ago all my tread depths were about the 4.5mm, in the last year i've replaced the standard 15mm rear ARB with a 16mm one and my car just had its MOT and the rear tyres are now close to their limit and the fronst are still ok.

would increasing the rear ARB thickness by 1mm make that much of a difference to rear tyre wear?

Nope, changing the arb won't effect tyre wear at all I wouldn't have thought, or at least I cannot see why it would be able to at all.

is the car lowered at all? Lowered S3s without tie bars eat rear tyres

the car hasnt been lowered atall, when i did the ARB i replaced the rear shocks too as they were old and poo with standard oem shocks.
i fitted it to make it slightly less understeery, maybe cause the back end is stiffer now with the slightly bigger arb and new shocks its sliding more which would cause more wear?
maybe i need to replace the bushes and shocks on the front too to balance it up? i dunno

or maybe the rears just wear slightly quicker in general and its nothing ive done

a rear ARB doesn't increase grip though. If anything, it lessens it!
