Hey all, i have noticed in the last 3,000 miles that my car sometimes takes longer to start then other times, takes like another 2 turns or so. isnt anytime specific, just now and then. i think its since i serviced it but cant be sure as dont recall paying attention to it befor.
Any ideas as to what it is? has any1 had anything similar?

Mine suffered from similar problems until I replaced the battery.

Mine does the same, but as long as it starts I'm not worrying about it!

Mine cranks sligtly longer than normal when the fuel tank is almost empty.
Always been like that.

wot fuel do u use, my t-sport was like that on normal unleaded but on optimax was fine

i only run it on optimax, sometimes ult imate. havent payed attention to if it does it when near empty, will have a look..

You should use partial throttle when starting a hot engine, no throttle when starting a cold engine...

I actually read that in the handbook of a car I had once... not sure what though! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As Timbo says, the ECU uses a 'cold start valve' when cold which enriches the fuel mixture therefore making it easier to start the engine.

Cheers
