Folks, driving the S3 (amk) to work this morning my engine stalled half way round a round a bout, engine turned over for about 10 secs before firing into life. 20 mins later i'm sitting at 70 mph on the dual carriageway when the revs dropped completely and the engine then cut out again whilst i'm in the middle of overtaking a car . Managed to coast into the hard shoulder and once i'd slowed down enough i tried to bump start the car, the engine fires up and everything is okay...any ideas whats wrong. The car normally runs fine and it's standard. Lately on the odd occasion it has been abit reluctant to start and it can be a bit rough when started from cold then after 10 -15 secs all is ok.brm180

I would check for fault codes as soon as you can as that could give you a fairly good idea but could be fuel pressure, crank sensor and a few other things... a scan for fault codes using VCDS should be top of your list though...
