Will 18 8j fronts and 18 9j rear cause problems with haldex?

Same with 19 8.5j and 19 9.5j.

Nope, so long as you have the correct tyres to make the rolling radius the same front and rear. The Haldex allows for 5% difference in rolling radius for worn tyres I think?

Nah mate I got 18x8.5 and 18x10.5 and no problems

As said before, rolling radius is the most important thing, get the correct profile tyres to keep the radius the same, the width is not really important.
