hi guys. new to the audi sene.. just gt a nice a3 mk1 {agu},, rear bearing has a wine lol .am nt tha familair with the a3 so any {how 2s} will be a big help!! thanks dave

You need a press weelo, best letting a pro do it.

can you get the complete hub with bearing? would ov thought it would ov been a lot less hassel lol

If its a fwd you can indeed get a bearing/hub pre made combo.
Quattro's are a bit more tricky.

Assuming yours is a FWD model:
Its straight forward. Remove wheel, brake calliper and carrier and disc.
Undo the centre hub nut (30mm 12 point) replace in reverse order.

Might be cheaper to get just the bearing matey and getting a friend that's either handy with the tools or is aa mechanic anyway and getting them to do it rather than forking out for a whole hub/bearing ore-pressed combo?

Hope you get it sorted easy enough either way :)

hi mate bit of a silly question but did you no it was a wheel bearing gone by play in the wheel or just a whine? reason for asking is just i have a bad whining which sounds like a wheel bearing but none of the wheels seem to have any play.

Your actual wheel won't have any play on one edge in and out as such if that makes sense, if it is a bearing you'll normally hear it start a deep grinding sound at about 30mph upwards as you gradually accelerate.

Hope this helps mate!

seems to be a whine bud.. comes n goes lol..starting to gt a bit louder now tho {ant checkd wat wheel yet}
