Howdy all - just purchased a 2000 AMK S3 - happy with it, extraordinarily clean example.

How ever the rear speakers and sub (non bose system) are not working, all googling tells me this is a problem caused by the amp inside the sub housing failing, can anyone shed any more light on this ? Is it repairable i.e what fails exactly lol

Any hep appreciated

Will throw up some pics of the car soon when i give it a good cleaning.

Is it a standard head unit? or an after market one? I ask because whatever mug put my aftermarket stereo in (It was in when I bought the car) didnt wire it in correctly so my sub didnt work. It wasnt untill i sourced a standard unit again that it worked.

The rear speakers are powered through the subwoofer. The amplifier for the rears are integral to the subwoofer if all three don't work I'd say it's the subwoofer at fault. These can be picked up cheaply on eBay. Just make sure you buy the non Bose one.

If you have further issues the best guy to ask is AndyMac
