Yeah dumb thing to do. Luckily I have a spare. How much is it gonna cost to get a new key from the stealers or is there anywhere else I can get one and whats involved.

I had to get one (car only came with one when I bought it) - in the end I went to the dealers, partly because it was simple and straight forward and also because it would then (hopefully) come with a certain amount of guarantee / reliability. Cost £180 about 4 years ago and has been perfect since.
I appreciate it was a lot of money, but cheaper than new ECU's etc or having the car stranded !!

Timpsons high street cobblers were advertising half price on programmed fob keys recently. Not used them myself but an alternative to the stealer.

oh! the same thing happened to me! i lost my keys in the park, or somebody stole it it, im not sure. when i called the local dealer they asked me for £329, no way i will give them that money! so i started looking on different websites and search for an alternative options, i called a couple of locksmith but their quote was pretty much like the dealer's. i was losing hopes! then i was reading some similar situation in this Audi Car Key Discussions and on the same page i was able to find and call a very friendly local locksmith. he quoted me £200, an all inclusive price, brand new key, programming plus one year warranty! the best ever! i suggest to take a look at it! cheers!
