Just flew back from 7 months in Thailand this morning. Before I went away there was already a lot I wanted to do to the S3 but now after 7 months of sitting on the driveway she definitely deserves a bit o' TLC! Although I'm massively jet lagged and suffering some minor alcohol withdrawal symptoms I'm still keen to get involved
While I was away, my old man was decent enough to roll her back every couple weeks and check tyre pressures (to prevent flat spots) and had the battery on trickle charge every now and then.
First up is MOT time... I know i got a top mount out and she needs discs and pads all round (will also change break fluid), I managed to pick up a set of AP coilovers on the cheap before I went away so they may as well go on while I'm there. I hope to get this all done tomorrow, then on Saturday (depending on how the MOT goes saturday morning!?) I'd like to get oil, oil pick up, filter, plugs & fuel filter done... Maybe a little optimistic but I got a second set of hands on the job with me, jus not looking forward to taking the sump off!
Just want to get the ride height right first time, anyone on AP's, would be grateful to see pictures and how much you got left to go. Also, am I likely to suffer any ARB rubbage issues at any point?
As I said, there's a lot I want to get done over the summer so I suppose this is the start of some sort of modding thread. I'm not going nuts, I just want a reliable stage one S3 that drives nice, smooth and tight. She's on fairly high miles (135k) so there's a lot of odds and sods that could do with ironing out. . . But you know how it is, it's all too easy to get carried away with these things. We'll see how it goes!
No doubt I'll have plenty of support and advice from the good people of ASN over the coming months. Thanks in advance gents!
