Don't think I have fitted the dash back correctly

After having an issue with my brake light switch, I fitted the dash piece back together but don't think it's quite together properly. The bolts all lined up fine but it just didn't want to clip in properly. This is how it looks:

Also, whilst I was under there, it looks like theres a fuse missing. Am I right? Mine is a 1.9tdi Quattro.

Any help would be immensely helpful!

Na that's not sitting right mate. I'd backtrack and clip it in correctly. Or is that stating the obvious lol.
Mass for the fuse I'd refer to your manual and see why the fuse is for and see if it's needed. hopefully it's not been pulled on purpose.

There is a metal clip either side of the column that the lower part of the dash clips into... its advisable to locate the plastic part of the dash that goes into this clip properly before giving it a short sharp tap with your hand to drive it home... careless bashing will result in the metal clip deforming and/or the plastic bit breaking off...

By fuse I assume you mean relay? Probably for an option you don't have so nowt to worry about...

I took the dash off because the brake light switch wasn't working properly. However, I took it off, popped it back on and it was fine. Anyone else had this problem? Do you think its best to buy a new one?
