As some of you may have read I have recenetly had to remove the sump amd currently in process of replacing the pickup pipe. Before I do I was just wondering what the black poece of plastic is that you see in the engine after removing the sump. Its quite flimsy (asume this is normal)

Cheers!

Sort of a baffle plate really.... catches the oil from the engine and drains it back down into the sump. It does need to be there.

Yes it is flimsy and ****e.

That was my thought. Just wondered really as I know the 106 didn't have it.

Can't compare a german engineered engine to a french one lol....

<tuffty/>

Just something I hadn't seen before. The 106 had a baffle at the top. I know big difference between the engines just surprised to see plastic lol
