Hi, does anyone have the tightening torque/ angle figures and sequences for the head bolts, main bearing and big end bearing caps please?
Cheers
Adam

For an s3 I probably should have mentioned...APY motor,
Cheers

Big end bearing caps are 22ftlbs and then 1/4 turn. (if there standard rods and bolts).

Standard OEM head bolts are 40nm (go round twice), then 60nm (go round twice) followed by 180 degrees but do that in 2 x 90 deg rounds...

Reason for going around twice on initial torque is that as you work out through the bolts the centre bolts will go loose again as the head gasket compresses... no need to check the 90 deg rounds...

Head bolt sequence is the opposite of the diag in this post
VWVortex.com - FAQ : Cylinder Head & Camshaft Removal + Re-Installation

For loosening head bolts you start from the outside and work in, tightening is start from the centre and work out...

As above for std rods but if using after market uprated rods that use ARP bolts you MUST read the instructions.... ARP bolts are typically 55ftlbs using ARP assembly grease and you tighten to 55ftlbs 3 times (loosening them off each time) 3rd time being the final tightening...

Not done a crank yet so not got anything for that but vortex should have some info... again... if using ARP studs then follow the instructions

sweet cheers guys, the head bolt ones tally with what the instructions with the gasket say but wanted to double check, will look on vortex for main bearing info,
