removing front seats

anyone know how to remove the front seats?

i need to get the passenger seat out tomorrow and maybe the drivers too

both seats have air bags and if im seeing them correctly, the connectors run from the centre of the car - obviously these will need to be removed

any ideas how i get the seats out though?

    TIA

    Re: removing front seats

    Good luck

I thought i would pull mine out when i got it to give a good clean of the carpet but what a pig

Any way did not get round to it after all to much hassle

2x nuts at the front of the runners and 2 at the rear

I would disconnect the battery for 30 mins then remove plugs and pull out seat

    Beware bloody Heavy

    Hope this helps

why do you recommend removing the battery for 30 mins?

something to do with the airbags?

it will get rid of the charge in the airbag so it shouldn't go off. Why would it go off though if you mess with the seat? Used to rip my seats in and out the saxo and just unclipped the airbag cable no probs.

see the below link for more info, I managed to do it so it can't be that hard, recommend if your doing it one your own cover over the door sill as you'll probably want to rest it there before carrying it further.

cleaning worked a treat, and you can get the replacement trim bits of plastic for not much money from either the dealers or vagparts, can probably post all the part numbers if you need them.

suggest doing it when warm as ess_three said as it's a *****.
