a3 ecu model numbers

hi

i have a agu engine and have been told that some later agu can be flashed by port
but the early model ecu cant.

so what i am asking does anyone have data of years of change from old
model ecu to new model.

right found my ecu number its 06a 906 018 aq (m3.8.3 ecu)

can this be tuned though the odb port or has it got to be pulled out and soldered a chip in????

this would help with tuning my agu engine

That ECU can definitely be flashed off the car. Custom-Code can certainly do them ( I am an dealer in Australia) Never tried to do one in the car, so can't say if you can or not.
