S3 Strut brace question

Howdo,

Did all facelift bam s3's come with top and bottom strut braces?

I can see mine has had a top brace on it at some point, but was missing when I purchased it (was factored into the price!) looking underneath I can see the bottom brace is non existent, but have yet to get it on a 2 poster to see if it's been removed or was never present!

Any suggestions on which top and bottom brace to use? Stay OEM or go aftermarket?

I'm a big fan of OEM, although aftermarket may be cheaper/easier to get.

OE bar is very good quality, all us leon boys fit them to ours.
I've seen some aftermarket ones which would be more rigid if made from chocolate
