EGR and anti shudder valve removed and cleaned. Coated!!

Hello,
Well car has been running a little bit lumpy on idle and have been reading about the EGR valve getting blocked up.
So today I removed the EGR and anti shudder valve which sits below it.

The anti shudder valve was relatively clean but the EGR was completely coated in black carbon build up.

Using brake and clutch cleaner along with compressed air, I cleaned both parts up and now the car is running a lot smoother on idle and when driving.

It was a little fiddly getting the back allen key bolt out but perseverance paid off!

Im also thinking about taking the inlet manifold off and blasting that through as when i put my fingers up inside it seemed quite thickly coated also!

Just thought id put it out there in case anyone is having similar troubles!

Good stuff! theres one of the anti shudder valve after a clean too.

Hello, um pretty simple, just a few allen key bolts, which you can see as its right at the front of the engine bay. the only tricky one is at the back of it, but I don't think I was using the correct tool really, also need to unbolt the pipe that goes into the side of the EGR.
