    stock inlet manifold

    Quick question guys.

    Can a stock AMK inlet manifold be ported to the size of my new AGU head, rather than using the transition spacer small->big,
    ive opended up a casing on a 2stroke scooter to accept a oversized barrel and piston,with the help of a die grinder and dremmel.
    7hp ---- 30+hp i know it small stuff but its where i learnt.


    1.can it be done
    2.has it been done
    3.would you do it

    You can port match it to the gasket as the runners are slightly smaller but i dont think theres enough metal to allow you to open it enough.

    No gains to be made by doing it, just bolt on the inlet

    The rest of the port really needs to match the head, thats why i built a AEB running inlet with Excessive plenum
    Was 531bhp 8L S3 thats going to break the 600+ bhp Club then break something else. Lets see what this OD HTAGT3582r can do

    The small port inlet hasn't got enough material to open up to large port size and there is no benefit to doing so... easier to just use a transition phenolic and get the benefits from that..

    So...
    1.can it be done...
    No...

    2.has it been done
    No...

    3.would you do it
    No...



    SEM or what Andrew has done... its what I plan to do and tbh both Welly and I run std inlets currently on big power with no real issues... to gain you really need the larger plenum of the SEM or xcessive to make gains over the std inlet...

    cheers everyone,ill start saving for the SEM then but thats deep down the list.
