A puzzling one .. anyone else had similar.?

Hi there,

Ive had what i believe is a fuel smell inside the car, it seems to come through the vents for the air con when its on.
I tried having a look under the bonnet and I Think ive tracked down the smell to a small black box under the plastic next to the coolant tank. It looks like the fuel lines are in some kind of plastic box/manifold here. has anyone had issure with seals on these before ? common to leak ?

The thing your describing as the black box is the carbon canister. It recirculates fuel fumes.

Thanks for the post i thought it some kind of recirc unit. do these have a tendancy to leak ? easy enough to replace i guess ?

can either replace it.

or just vent the pipe into the wheel arch.
